A Date with the Government

January 27, 2010

Ashleigh and I have a date with the Government. To be specific, the Department of U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.

I think they check our ID’s and maybe do our finger prints. (Maybe Ashleigh should be writing this post.) The paperwork actually says they “must capture your biometrics”. I have no clue what that means, but I am guessing mine will be harder to capture than Ashleigh’s.  In fact, they may discover that one or both of us are actually aliens.

I am definitely excited to get some adoption paperwork in the mail though, even if it is a date with the Government. It keeps this whole process real. I know that may sound weird, but when Ashleigh was pregnant, she never forgot she was pregnant and she was a constant visual reminder even when you weren’t talking about the baby on the way. When you adopt you have to remind yourself you have a child on the way. I think about it all day long, but it is moments like this that make it real.

So be praying for us and our biometric capturing on February 9th.

Perhaps you want to reconsider your use of the word “aliens” in this context? lol

Hilarious! I didn’t even think of that!

So to be clear I meant “space aliens”!

You guys rock! Love that little family you are growing! Keep up the good work and keep us posted on the “pregnancy” and biometric capturing……sheesh…….one day they’ll probably do a documentary on you or will it be on their findings? You guys are so creative…..come up with something for them……Grandma Ci Ci
